Fail
There are obvious shortcomings in basic knowledge about nursing; searching for and utilising knowledge is incomplete, and even after a tutorial discussion there are misunderstandings in the theoretical knowledge
The student
- does not know the patient's care path
- does not demonstrate under supervision the essential clinical skills of patient care
- does not master the principles of infection control and aseptic procedures
- makes mistakes in the patient's medicine and fluid therapy despite being supervised; has not completed a medical treatment passport
- is not able to observe the patient's basic vital function and condition
- displays inadequate planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment
- the patient's nursing care plan and summary don’t show the patient's whole situation
- displays a lack of understanding of professional interface: treats patients, family, or members of the work group inappropriately or disrespectfully and is not able to interact with them
- does not show interest in patient guidance and withdraws from it
- violates confidentiality or patient privacy
- does not recognize the boundaries of his/her expertise, endangering patient safety
- fails to follow the agreed rules for supervised practice (e.g., takes no responsibility for his/her own learning; the goals are missing; does not
follow the working hours, does not report his/ her absences, and/or the total amount of required hours is not fulfilled)
- evaluates her/his own competence unrealistically and is unable to receive feedback
