    Learning outcomes of the course unit
    The student
    - is able to act professionally according to patient safety and ethical principles in nursing in advanced medical- surgical nursing and palliative care circumstances
    - masters essential evidence based knowledge and skills of the advanced clinical nursing practice of long- term patients
    - is able to act according to principles of health promotion using evidence based knowledge in medical- surgical nursing
    - knows the principles of sustainability and is able to implement those in nursing.

    Prerequisites: participation in course Advanced clinical nursing practice of long-term patients
    Course contents
    - workshops on gastroenterology patients, palliative care, patient’s with long term conditions
    - planning of pharmacotherapy and fluid therapy
    - case studies
