    The student
    - is able to prepare the patient for anaesthesia and surgery
    - is able to prepare the care environment for anaesthesia and surgery

    - is able to apply the principles of aseptics and promote patient safety in perioperative nursing
    - is trained in patient encounters and interaction in a perioperative care environment
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    First year studies 50 ects completed, including the course on Pharmacotherapy and Medical Calculations.
    Participation in courses on Perioperative Nursing and Intravenous Fluid Therapy and Blood Transfusion.
