    Learning outcomes of the course unit
    After completing this course student has basic knowledge on different renewable energy production methods and sources of renewable energy. Different energy production methods and types of renewable energy are introduced to that extent that student is able to evaluate and assess their feasibility in dfferent situations.
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    The course is not recommended for first or second year students. Before taking this course, you should have completed all of your basic studies, especially the basic studies in mathematics, physics and chemistry. In addition, it is recommended that you have completed a basic course in environmental technology, for example 5E00BF93 Basic in Environmental Technology and Management or similar.

    Planned learning activities and teaching methods

    The course consists of lectures by different professionals who present different renewable energy technologies. The course includes contact teaching, distance teaching, assignments and mini exams.

    Assessment methods and criteria

    Assessment is based on four mini exams and assignments. Active participation is warmly recommended and can affect the grade positively.
