It is possible for the students to have their prior competence recognised. There are credit transfers of two kinds: credit transfer for studies and credit transfer for competence. The head of degree programme decides on credit transfer for studies, and the teacher decides on credit transfer for competence. Completion of Master's Degree in Economy and Management in the International Forest Sector curriculum studies and achievement of related competence objectives.
The degree is a Master's Degree -level professional higher education degree in the field of forestry. The degree gives the participants a broader view and better skills on management and economy in the field of international forestry.
The studies provide students with contemporay skills and tools to manage demanding forestry operations in Finland or abroad. The emphasis is on management skills and economy.
After graduating the students will be able to apply for positions in forestry and related fields which demand good managing and language skills. The students will be able to apply for positions where a master´s degree is demanded.
The evaluation of the study units is done by using the general evaluation criteria of Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Normally, courses are graded from 1 (passed) to 5 (excellent. The evaluation information is found on each study unit´s plan.
The Master´s degree studies are 60 credit units and it will take 1 to 1,5 years to complet them.
The studies are organized by using blended learning. The amount and length of contact periods varies in each implementation of the programme. Contact periods make up 15 to 20 % of all the studying. The development task is 30 credits.
The degree programme will be continuously developed based on the feedback from the students, teachers and employers.
