Credit transfer for studies means that the student can transfer prior higher education studies to the studied degree if they meet the competence objectives of the degree programme. Any studies completed in other higher education institutions can be included in the elective studies.
Students of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) may propose credit transfer based on their prior studies and competence.
Credit transfer follows the spesific instructions of TAMK.
The programme corresponds to the competence framework described in European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF). EQF enables lifelong learning and the flexibility of degrees within Europe. The master’s degree corresponds to the competence level 7
The extent of the studies is 90 credits. Master’s degree studies are implemented as part-time studies with contact teaching on average on two or three days a month. Outside the contact teaching, learning takes place through independent and team work. The degree can be completed alongside work.
The studies provide the students with theoretical information on the field of management and development. In addition, students learn to think, evaluate and develop operation critically based on evidence. They can choose free-choice studies from other TAMK’s master’s degree programmes or from the educational supply of other higher education institutions.
The master’s thesis is a working life oriented development project. The master’s thesis topic can arise from a development need of the student’s current work community or it can be related to TAMK projects. The master’s thesis process includes research and development, systematic information search, and scientific writing. When the master’s thesis is ready, the student has to write a printable article as his/her maturity test.
The focus of the degree programme is on evidence based development and management skills. The degree programme gives the readiness needed for diverse managerial duties, management of change, and expert tasks.
After graduation the students are qualified to apply to vocational teacher's education and those public positions for which a master-level degree is a requirement. The degree is working life oriented and comparable with equivalent degrees in other EU countries (EQF, level 7).

The master’s degree from a university of applied sciences produces the same eligibility for postgraduate studies as a master’s degree from a university.
Evaluation is based on the common evaluation criteria of TAMK.
Completion of studies and achievement of competence objectives in the extent set by the curriculum.
The scope of the degree is 90 cr. It consists of both classroom meetings (2-3 days/month) and independent work. The amount of independent study is large in the programme.
Your networking will be supported by collaboration between programmes and students from different universities of applied sciences. The learning methods include both independent work and inclusive working, for example working in small groups, study visits and on-line studies. Together with your teacher tutor you will draw up your individual study plan to follow during your studies.

Master’s thesis 30 cr
Curricula are developed together with other Universities of Applied Sciences and other Master's programs in Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
With clinical practice different co-operation projects are included in the program, such as Thesis projects. There are also regular meetings and networking with clinical practice in the field.
