Tavoitteet (OJ)

Learning goals: After the course students can describe how to release games for online use. They are able to design and create graphics for a small scale 2D game. They know how to create characters with animations and are able to export them to be used in a game. They are also able to create optimized 2D art for games.

Students can design and create 3D environments for games with sculpting. They can identify the used tools, techniques and pipelines. They have ability to create modular models with procedural textures. Students can plan and create low resolution models with baking. They can also demonstrate understanding of render methods and use of different textures on models. They can create lighting and can manage post processing in a game engine. They apply learned skills for starting to build a portfolio.

Basic concepts of creating 3D environments and assets for games. Sculpting 3D models and pipelines for baking and exporting to games. Basics of retopology and used tools. Creating and using procedural textures on models. Designing and creating game ready modular structures and small assets. Portfolio building.

Tavoitteet (OJ)

Opiskelija hahmottaa omien ammatissa tarvittavien viestintätaitojensa tason kurssin alussa, asettaa selkeät tavoitteet niiden parantamiseksi lukukauden aikana ja pyrkii noita tavoitteita kohti. Hän parantaa sekä itse- että vertaisarvioinnin taitojaan. Hän osaa viestiä ottaen huomioon sekä eri tilanteiden että vastaanottajien asettamat vaatimukset, myös kulttuurienvälisen viestinnän aspekteja huomioiden. Ammatillisissa asiantuntijatehtävissä opiskelija osaa viestiä ymmärrettävästi, jäsentyneesti ja vakuuttavasti noudattaen vastuullisesti aikataulua sekä annettuja ohjeita. Hän osaa hankkia ja käyttää oman alansa tietoa kriittisesti. Hän osaa tuottaa sekä kirjallisia että visuaalisen havainnollistuksen sisältäviä suullisia esityksiä. Opiskelija kirjoittaa ymmärrettävästi ja asiatyylisesti asiakirjastandardia/raportointimallia jäljitellen. Tekstin rakentaminen on hapuilevaa, ja kielen muoto- ja tyyliseikoissa on huomautettavaa. Väitteiden perusteleminen on vaatimatonta. Opiskelija kykenee pitämään puhe-esityksensä visuaalisen havainnollistuksen kera asiallisesti, joskin sen kestossa, rakenteessa, vuorovaikutuksellisuudessa tai äänenkäytössä on paljonkin huomautettavaa.

Opiskelija viestii kirjoittaen jäsentyneesti ja havainnollisesti. Olennainen tieto välittyy selkeästi, ja teksti on melko virheetön ja noudattelee asettelultaan täysin asiakirjastandardia/raportointimallia. Opiskelija osaa esittää asiat erotellen omat näkemyksensä lähteistä hankkimistaan tiedoista niin, että referointi niveltyy luontevasti muuhun tekstiin. Opiskelijan puhe-esitys on vastaanottajat ja tilanteen huomioiva ja rakenteeltaan toimiva. Puheensa aikana opiskelija pitää katsekontaktin yleisöön ja puhuu omin sanoin. Opiskelija suorittaa kaikki tehtävät aikataulun mukaisesti. Hän osoittaa aktiivisuutta ja perustelee näkemyksensä. Kurssiin ei kuulu tenttiä. Arvioitavat työt: pienoistutkielma ja esittelevä puhe. Jatkuva näyttö tuntityöskentelyn aikana.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

Kurssi on tarkoitettu opiskelijoille, joiden äidinkieli on suomi. Koska sen aikana harjoitellaan taitoja, opiskelijoilla on 80 %:n läsnäolovelvollisuus. Jos 20 %:n poissaolo-osuus ylittyy, kurssi katsotaan keskeytyneeksi. Olennaista on hahmottaa omien viestintätaitojen taso kurssin alussa, asettaa selkeät tavoitteet niiden parantamiseksi lukukauden aikana ja pyrkiä noita tavoitteita kohti. Paitsi itse- myös vertaisarvioinnin taitoja kehitetään. Tärkeää on myös oivaltaa, että kukin osaltaan vaikuttaa hyvän ilmapiirin luomiseen ryhmässä. Se on osaltaan ammatillisia ryhmäviestintätaitoja, joiden kehittämiseen kiinnitetään huomiota. Koska aikataulujen noudattaminen on ammattiviestinnässä olennaisen tärkeää, painotetaan harjoitusten kattavaa tekemistä ajallaan.
Koko ryhmän koostumus antaa hyvän mahdollisuuden oppia toimimaan monikulttuurisessa ympäristössä.
Arvosanasta 50 % määräytyy tutkielmaraportista saadun numeron perusteella ja 50 % esittelevästä puheesta saadun numeron perusteella.
Jos opiskelijalla on ollut lukiossa suomi toisena kielenä, tutkielmaraporttitehtävä muokataan hänen taitotasolleen sopivaksi. Kurssille voi osallistua myös opiskelija, joka osoittaa suomen kielen taitonsa Finnish for Foreigners -kurssia varten ja näin saa myös arvosanan suorituksistaan FfF-kurssille. Hän tekee tutkielmaraportin sijaan omalle suomen kielen tasolleen sopivan kirjoitustehtävän.

Opiskelumuodot ja opetusmenetelmät

Hyödynnetään lähi- ja etäopetuksen menetelmiä. Oppitunneilla puhutaan paljon: keskustellaan, pidetään puheita ja hiotaan ryhmätyötaitoja. Harjaannutetaan itse- ja vertaisrvioinnin taitoja. Oppituntien ulkopuolelle jää huomattava määrä tiedonhankintaa ja suunnittelu- sekä kirjoitustyötä. Kurssin alussa asetetaan henkilökohtaiset tavoitteet, joita kohti pyritään ja joiden toteutumista arvioidaan kurssin päättyessä.

Oppimateriaalit

Opettajan laatima materiaali ja muu kurssimateriaali, esim. TAMKin Kirjallisen raportoinnin opas. Lisäksi on omaksi hyödyksi hyvä etsiä kirjastosta/netistä puheviestintään liittyvää kirjallisuutta/videoita. Erilaisia hyödyllisiä self help -julkaisuja on alalla tarjolla runsaasti.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

On hyvä hahmottaa, että kurssiin sisältyy huomattavan paljon itsenäistä työtä. Se on mitoitettu 5 op:n laajuiseksi, ja lähiopetusta on kahdessa periodissa vain kaki tuntia viikossa, eli kaiken kaikkiaan lähiopetusta on vain 26 tuntia. Koska 5 op:n työmäärä on opiskelijalla (5 x 27 t =) 135 t, se tarkoittaa, että itsenäistä työtä oppituntien ulkopuolella tulee tehdä 99 tunnin verran. Siksi aikataulussa pysymiseen tulee kiinnittää erityistä huomiota. Suurin itsenäinen työ on tutkielmaraportin laatiminen.

Sisällön jaksotus

Aluksi tutustutaan kurssiin ja porukkaan, sitten keskitytään enemmän kirjoittamisasioihin ja tiedonhankintaan, sitten puheeseen ja työskennellään ryhmissä. Ideana on saada raporttityö alta pois, ennen kuin muiden kurssien laajahkot kirjoitustyöt on palautettava.

Tavoitteet (OJ)

The students recognise contemporary art as a cultural way of expression and criticism. Students are able to analyse critically art discourse and conventions in fine art and visual culture in general. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Sisältö (OJ)

Visual analysis begins with cultural research and applying discourse analysis in interpreting the meanings of an image.
The course consists of cultural research lectures and introduction to visual methodologies, group discussions of presentation contexts and power politics as well as a seminar of art discourses.

The student is able to examine, observe and interpret their living environment and visual image culture critically. The student is able to convey observations and interpretations through photographing. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.

Sisältö (OJ)

The student learns the basic digital technology of photography and creates a photographic work of art. Sustainable development.
