    Learning outcomes of the course unit
    - can apply the guidelines of Bachelor’s thesis and are familiar with the objectives of thesis in the degree programme of social services
    - can describe the process of making a thesis in the degree programme
    - choose a research theme and explain their choice
    - find current and essential sources in English for the thesis
    - know the terminology of social services and academic vocabulary in order to understand scientific texts in English, are familiar with the structure of scientific texts, and know how to apply reading strategies
    Course contents
    - Getting acquainted with current research and development projects in TAMK and social services
    - Evaluating research themes provided by work life from the perspective of learning objectives
    - Writing and presenting an idea paper
    - Participation in information acquisition teaching by searching for essential electronic resources in English (Advanced Skills in Information Acquisition)
    -Academic reading: authentic scientific texts, structure of scientific texts, reading strategies, academic vocabulary, summarizing
