The curriculum has been planned so that the student completes 60 ECTS credits per academic year and 30 ECTS credits per semester

Studies of syllabus is planned so 60 credits are studied in academic year and length of studies is 3,5/4/4,5 years. Planned syllabus may change during studies.

The specialisation option gives the students the skills needed to operate as an independent entrepreneur or employee in the demanding tasks of business life. The main focus areas are business, project work and team working skills. The students discover their own focuses through charting their own strengths and interests. This process forms the individual study path for each student.

The studies consist of projects done for the business life, reading professional literature and regular team meetings. Important is learning in teams together with the other students of entrepreneurship. Each team has its own coach.

In ProAcademy, the students learn through ideas, experiments and practical experience. The learning method for this specialisation option is ‘learning by doing,’ where the shared thoughts and ideas are concretised into strategy plans. They are then implemented in practice and the experiences are again shared with the community. In this manner, the method forms a circular chain of learning which is repeated during the studies. The students keep a learning diary of all the work they have done (for example: weekly team, learning cell and project meetings, company visitations, project work, literature read). This diary is an essential evaluation and feedback tool of course completion. The literature is given points (1-3) depending on its difficulty. During the specialisation studies, a student of Business Information Systems must collect 75 literature points which equals 22,5 credits (cr).

During the first year, the studies focus on business information systems and are the same for all degree programme students of business information systems. The students apply for ProAcademy during the 1st year of studies. During the 2nd and 3rd year, the students complete 90 credits of professional studies, 70 of which are carried out in ProAcademy. The 2nd year studies also include the mandatory Swedish studies. The studies also contain free-choice studies and the final thesis.

Professional studies include team meetings, producing new information (=incubation), reading professional literature, seminars and company visitations. The students write an essay of the literature in which they reflect the theory to their own experiences, team work and practical projects. The essay is submitted to the team coach.

The students improve their skills in their own field (computer science) by studying 20 credits of professional studies offered by the Degree programme of Business Information Systems.

Each student of the ProAcademy has their own personal study plan, which enables them to emphasise their own interests in their studies.

The practical training (30 cr) is carried out in the students’ own companies by carrying out projects for companies or societies. The students are in charge of getting and implementing the projects.
